Psalms

1 To the chief Musician{H8764)}, A Psalm or Song of David. Let God arise{H8799)}, let his enemies{H8802)} be scattered{H8799)}: let them also that hate{H8764)} him flee{H8799)} before him.

2 As smoke is driven away{H8736)}, so drive them away{H8799)}: as wax melteth{H8736)} before the fire, so let the wicked perish{H8799)} at the presence of God.

3 But let the righteous be glad{H8799)}; let them rejoice{H8799)} before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice{H8799)}.

4 Sing{H8798)} unto God, sing praises{H8761)} to his name: extol{H8798)} him that rideth{H8802)} upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice{H8798)} before him.

5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

6 God setteth{H8688)} the solitary in families: he bringeth out{H8688)} those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious{H8802)} dwell{H8804)} in a dry land.

7 O God, when thou wentest forth{H8800)} before thy people, when thou didst march{H8800)} through the wilderness; Selah:

8 The earth shook{H8804)}, the heavens also dropped{H8804)} at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

9 Thou, O God, didst send{H8686)} a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm{H8790)} thine inheritance, when it was weary{H8738)}.

10 Thy congregation hath dwelt{H8804)} therein: thou, O God, hast prepared{H8686)} of thy goodness for the poor.

11 The Lord gave{H8799)} the word: great was the company of those that published{H8764)} it.

12 Kings of armies did flee{H8799)} apace{H8799)}: and she that tarried at home divided{H8762)} the spoil.

13 Though ye have lien{H8799)} among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered{H8737)} with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.

14 When the Almighty scattered{H8763)} kings in it, it was white as snow{H8686)} in Salmon.

15 The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

16 Why leap{H8762)} ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth{H8804)} to dwell in{H8800)}; yea, the LORD will dwell{H8799)} in it for ever.

17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

18 Thou hast ascended{H8804)} on high, thou hast led captivity captive{H8804)}: thou hast received{H8804)} gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious{H8802)} also, that the LORD God might dwell{H8800)} among them.

19 Blessed{H8803)} be the Lord, who daily loadeth{H8799)} us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.

21 But God shall wound{H8799)} the head of his enemies{H8802)}, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still{H8693)} in his trespasses.

22 The Lord said{H8804)}, I will bring again{H8686)} from Bashan, I will bring my people again{H8686)} from the depths of the sea:

23 That thy foot may be dipped{H8799)} in the blood of thine enemies{H8802)}, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

24 They have seen{H8804)} thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

25 The singers{H8802)} went before{H8765)}, the players on instruments{H8802)} followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels{H8802)}.

26 Bless{H8761)} ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

27 There is little Benjamin with their ruler{H8802)}, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

28 Thy God hath commanded{H8765)} thy strength: strengthen{H8798)}, O God, that which thou hast wrought{H8804)} for us.

29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring{H8686)} presents unto thee.

30 Rebuke{H8798)} the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit{H8693)} himself with pieces of silver: scatter{H8765)} thou the people that delight{H8799)} in war.

31 Princes shall come out{H8799)} of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out{H8686)} her hands unto God.

32 Sing{H8798)} unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises{H8761)} unto the Lord; Selah:

33 To him that rideth{H8802)} upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out{H8799)} his voice, and that a mighty voice.

34 Ascribe{H8798)} ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

35 O God, thou art terrible{H8737)} out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth{H8802)} strength and power unto his people. Blessed{H8803)} be God.
