Chapter 41

To the chief Musician{H8764)}, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth{H8688)} the poor: the LORD will deliver{H8762)} him in time of trouble.

The LORD will preserve{H8799)} him, and keep him alive{H8762)}; and he shall be blessed{H8795)} upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver{H8799)} him unto the will of his enemies{H8802)}.

The LORD will strengthen{H8799)} him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make{H8804)} all his bed in his sickness.

I said{H8804)}, LORD, be merciful{H8798)} unto me: heal{H8798)} my soul; for I have sinned{H8804)} against thee.

Mine enemies{H8802)} speak{H8799)} evil of me, When shall he die{H8799)}, and his name perish{H8804)}?

And if he come{H8804)} to see{H8800)} me, he speaketh{H8762)} vanity: his heart gathereth{H8799)} iniquity to itself; when he goeth{H8799)} abroad, he telleth{H8762)} it.

All that hate{H8802)} me whisper{H8691)} together against me: against me do they devise{H8799)} my hurt.

An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast{H8803)} unto him: and now that he lieth{H8804)} he shall rise up{H8800)} no more{H8686)}.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted{H8804)}, which did eat{H8802)} of my bread, hath lifted up{H8689)} his heel against me.

But thou, O LORD, be merciful{H8798)} unto me, and raise me up{H8685)}, that I may requite{H8762)} them.

By this I know{H8804)} that thou favourest{H8804)} me, because mine enemy{H8802)} doth not triumph{H8686)} over me.

And as for me, thou upholdest{H8804)} me in mine integrity, and settest{H8686)} me before thy face for ever.

Blessed{H8803)} be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
