Psalms

Chapter 52

To the chief Musician{H8764)}, Maschil{H8688)}, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came{H8800)} and told{H8686)} Saul, and said{H8799)} unto him, David is come{H8804)} to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest{H8691)} thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

Thy tongue deviseth{H8799)} mischiefs; like a sharp{H8794)} razor, working{H8802)} deceitfully.

Thou lovest{H8804)} evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak{H8763)} righteousness. Selah.

Thou lovest{H8804)} all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

God shall likewise destroy{H8799)} thee for ever, he shall take thee away{H8799)}, and pluck thee out{H8799)} of thy dwelling place, and root thee out{H8765)} of the land of the living. Selah.

The righteous also shall see{H8799)}, and fear{H8799)}, and shall laugh{H8799)} at him:

Lo, this is the man that made{H8799)} not God his strength; but trusted{H8799)} in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened{H8799)} himself in his wickedness.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust{H8804)} in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

I will praise{H8686)} thee for ever, because thou hast done{H8804)} it: and I will wait{H8762)} on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
