Psalms

Chapter 53

1 To the chief Musician{H8764)} upon Mahalath, Maschil{H8688)}, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said{H8804)} in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt{H8689)} are they, and have done abominable{H8689)} iniquity: there is none that doeth{H8802)} good.

2 God looked down{H8689)} from heaven upon the children of men, to see{H8800)} if there were any that did understand{H8688)}, that did seek{H8802)} God.

3 Every one of them is gone back{H8804)}: they are altogether become filthy{H8738)}; there is none that doeth{H8802)} good, no, not one.

4 Have the workers{H8802)} of iniquity no knowledge{H8804)}? who eat up{H8802)} my people as they eat{H8804)} bread: they have not called{H8804)} upon God.

5 There were they in great fear{H8804)}, where no fear was: for God hath scattered{H8765)} the bones of him that encampeth{H8802)} against thee: thou hast put them to shame{H8689)}, because God hath despised{H8804)} them.

6 Oh that{H8799)} the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back{H8800)} the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice{H8799)}, and Israel shall be glad{H8799)}.
