Psalms

1 To the chief Musician{H8764)} on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known{H8737)}: his name is great in Israel.

2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

3 There brake{H8765)} he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

4 Thou art more glorious{H8737)} and excellent than the mountains of prey.

5 The stouthearted are spoiled{H8709)}, they have slept{H8804)} their sleep: and none of the men of might have found{H8804)} their hands.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep{H8737)}.

7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared{H8737)}: and who may stand{H8799)} in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard{H8689)} from heaven; the earth feared{H8804)}, and was still{H8804)},

9 When God arose{H8800)} to judgment, to save{H8687)} all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise{H8686)} thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain{H8799)}.

11 Vow{H8798)}, and pay{H8761)} unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring{H8686)} presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12 He shall cut off{H8799)} the spirit of princes: he is terrible{H8737)} to the kings of the earth.
