Psalms

1 To the chief Musician{H8764)} upon Shushaneduth, Michtam of David, to teach{H8763)}; when he strove{H8687)} with Aramnaharaim and with Aramzobah, when Joab returned{H8799)}, and smote{H8686)} of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off{H8804)}, thou hast scattered{H8804)} us, thou hast been displeased{H8804)}; O turn thyself to us again{H8787)}.

2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble{H8689)}; thou hast broken{H8804)} it: heal{H8798)} the breaches thereof; for it shaketh{H8804)}.

3 Thou hast shewed{H8689)} thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink{H8689)} the wine of astonishment.

4 Thou hast given{H8804)} a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed{H8710)} because of the truth. Selah.

5 That thy beloved may be delivered{H8735)}; save{H8685)} with thy right hand, and hear{H8798)} me.

6 God hath spoken{H8765)} in his holiness; I will rejoice{H8799)}, I will divide{H8762)} Shechem, and mete out{H8762)} the valley of Succoth.

7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver{H8781)};

8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out{H8686)} my shoe: Philistia, triumph{H8708)} thou because of me.

9 Who will bring{H8686)} me into the strong city? who will lead{H8804)} me into Edom?

10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off{H8804)}? and thou, O God, which didst not go out{H8799)} with our armies?

11 Give{H8798)} us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

12 Through God we shall do{H8799)} valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down{H8799)} our enemies.
